To make a вЂњTotal ValueвЂќ adjustment, enter the new total value into the вЂњNew ValueвЂќ column.

If you enter a loss of items in the вЂњQty DifferenceвЂќ column, be sure to enter the difference as a negativeВ number!.

To make a вЂњQuantityвЂќ adjustment, either type the вЂњNew QuantityвЂќ or the вЂњQuantity DifferenceвЂќ into the respective column.

Then select the first item to adjust from the drop-down list that appears.

Then click into вЂњItemвЂќ column in the first available row.

Enter the reason you needed to adjust inventory in QuickBooks Desktop Pro into the вЂњMemoвЂќ field at the bottom of the form.

You can also assign a вЂњCustomer:JobвЂќ or вЂњClassвЂќ to the transaction, if needed.

To the right, enter an adjustment reference number into the вЂњReference No.вЂќ field.

Then select the account that the adjustment will affect from the вЂњAdjustment AccountвЂќ drop-down menu.

Then enter the date of the adjustment into the вЂњAdjustment DateвЂќ field.

You can adjust the вЂњQuantity,вЂќ вЂњTotal Value,вЂќ or both the вЂњQuantity and Total Value.вЂќ

Select the type of inventory adjustment to make from the вЂњAdjustment TypeвЂќ drop-down menu.
